8. BACKOFFICE SYSTEMS

With the solutions from EposSystems.Com, a separate back-office system is NOT required for operation of the POS system. It is always an optional extra and only required if you wish to manage your system remotely.

TYPICAL BACK OFFICE FUNCTIONS
   System Management of hardware settings
   Sales, financial and accounting reports
   Live sales monitoring
   Stock management, receiving goods & purchase ordering
   Updating screen layouts / buttons
   Managing staff access and security settings
   Data backup

All of the reports can be printed directly from the main POS terminal and any programming or configuration can also be done directly at the POS terminals. A separate back office system is only needed if you wish to perform these tasks remotely.

CASH REGISTER BACK OFFICE SYSTEMS
On most mid-range and high-end Casio, Sharp and SAM4S tills, a data cable allows the cash register to be connected to a Windows PC for use with the manufacturers application software. This allows programming to be done in a Windows program and download of programming data as well as periodic upload of transaction data for reports. Most of these utilities also provide for download your logo to the till for printing on receipts.

ENHANCED REPORTING
If you do require a wider range of reports, enhanced stock control and remote access, then a Back Office system is a good option to choose. For instance with Windows-based Sentinel solution and flash-based SPS-2200 solution and SPS-500 touch screen till, the SAMLITE and SAMSTOCK back-office systems are available. With Windows-based Quickstore software, the Enterprise edition allows multi-site polling. The optional Real Time Management Control Module for Sentinel also provides live monitoring and reporting at the back office.

REMOTE CONTROL SOFTWARE
Please note that with any Windows-based system, you can also use various third-party products such as Team Viewer, GoToMyPC and similar programs to gain remote access to a terminal without the need for a Back Office system.
